The convention includes distinguished ceremonies such as the Award of Garden Excellence presentation and the induction of new members into the prestigious Rose Hall of Fame. These events celebrate excellence and recognize outstanding contributions to the rose world.

Beyond fostering international cooperation, this gathering serves as a cornerstone for knowledge dissemination, research progression, and the development of global standards within the rose community. The convention's influence extends far beyond its duration, contributing significantly to worldwide rose cultivation and appreciation.

World Federation of Rose Societies

The World Federation of Rose Societies stands as a distinguished organization with nearly five decades of history, encompassing rose associations from approximately 40 nations worldwide. Beyond organizing the triennial World Rose Convention, the federation coordinates regional gatherings and heritage rose conferences.

The federation's primary focus centers on facilitating exchanges and information sharing among rose enthusiasts from member nations, advancing knowledge distribution and research initiatives, standardizing rose classification systems, and establishing consistent criteria for rose competition judging across the globe.

Madhya Pradesh Rose Society

The Madhya Pradesh Rose Society traces its origins to 1979, when passionate rose enthusiast Mr. A.R. Khan founded this dedicated organization. What began as a small gathering of 18 rose lovers on June 17th, 1979, has evolved into one of India's most influential rose societies.

Originally established as the Bhopal Rose Society in August 1980 under the leadership of President Major Fazal Mohd. Khan, the organization was later renamed to Madhya Pradesh Rose Society (MPRS) in November 1980, reflecting its expanded regional influence. The society became affiliated with the Indian Rose Federation in 1981, marking its entry into the national rose community.

Since 1981, MPRS has consistently organized the annual Winter Rose Show each January in partnership with the Madhya Pradesh Government's Department of Horticulture. This collaboration represents a unique achievement - being the only Indian rose society to maintain such a long-standing partnership with state government horticulture authorities from its inception.

The society's impact extends far beyond exhibitions. MPRS has successfully hosted three All India Rose Conventions in 1984, 2004, and 2014, with the 2014 event attracting over 500 delegates and celebrating the society's Silver Jubilee. Their annual rose show has become one of India's premier horticultural events, drawing more than 100,000 visitors and earning widespread recognition across the country.

Through decades of dedicated work, MPRS has transformed Bhopal's rose culture dramatically. Where the city once required rose plants to be transported from 1000 kilometers away in 1979, today Bhopal proudly hosts over 50 rose nurseries. This remarkable transformation demonstrates the society's success in promoting rose cultivation and spreading their message of love, peace, and harmony throughout the region.
